Exdia analyzer uses Time-Resolved Fluorescence based on Europium as a conjugate,
minimizing background fluorescence and leading to better clinical sensitivity.

Time-Resolved Fluorescence Detection

Fluorescence intensity detection is the simplest to run, but is easily affected by signal interference. Unlike conventional fluorescence meter, TRF is time-gated fluorometer in which the gate open time is controlled to be open after all back ground noise signal is disappeared. The gated fluorescence begins with the excitation pulse, but does not measure the fluorescence emission until the background signal has decayed to zero or minimum by a temporal lag. The long stokes shift of emission light amplifies the signal of interest without any interference from the absorption light, improving both sensitivity and selectivity in measurement.

Exdia Analyzer with TRF Technology

The main processor of Exdia analyzers is ARM cortex A9 quad-core processor used to guarantee high speed operation and high level of stability. This processor is also designed to support various types of interface such as keyboard, mouse, barcode scanner, USB, LAN, RS-232, I2C.

The detection part of Exdia analyzers is CCD sensor with 300K pixel. Its CCD sensor together with the gated integrator implemented by CCD control circuitry is the key component of Exdia analyzers. Europium nanoparticles is excited at 320nm of UV LED light source and after 100-400ns delay-time, the emitted fluorescent signal is captured by the CCD sensor in Exdia analyzers to produce an image. Finally, the signal intensity in digital fluorescence image is converted to a signal value and displayed quantitatively in Exdia analyzers.
